Today we drove from Sault Ste. Marie to Thunder Bay — a long stretch of road with breathtaking scenery.
But after about 4 hours, I found myself wishing we had only 30 minutes left to go.
That’s when I realized something powerful:
I could complete the drive and even enjoy it — not by changing the distance, but by changing what I focused on.
Instead of fixating on how much farther we had to go, I chose to enjoy the moment and embrace the journey.
This is a lesson for marriage too.
Sometimes you notice something in your spouse that frustrates or discourages you. It’s not changing anytime soon… and it can be tempting to get stuck in disappointment or resentment.
But what if — like today’s drive — you simply chose not to focus on the negative? What if you trained your heart to enjoy the moments, trust the process, and be fully present?
That one shift could change everything.
Your marriage journey might feel long right now, but it’s still worth it — and it can still be beautiful.
Blessings,
Ade
