Today, we visited the Canadian Museum for Human Rights — a sobering and powerful experience that reminded us of how deeply human dignity matters. Tomorrow, we continue our road trip as we head toward Regina.
Yesterday, I promised to unpack what respect and attention look like in lasting marriages.
Jesus said:
“Do to others as you would have them do to you.” (Luke 6:31)
That principle alone could transform most marriages.
Here’s what I’ve discovered:
👉 When a wife respects her husband more than any other man, she’ll treat him like someone worthy of honor — not because he earns it daily, but because she’s chosen to give it.
That means:
- No sarcasm in her tone.
- Greeting him warmly in the morning.
- Pausing what she’s doing just to connect.
👉 When a husband pays attention to his wife more than any other woman, he becomes attuned to her heart — not just her words, but her emotions, struggles, and joys.
That looks like:
- Noticing her mood.
- Listening without fixing.
- Putting aside distractions to truly hear her.
It’s not about being perfect. It’s about making a daily choice to treat your spouse with the kind of care you desire yourself.
More tomorrow from the road.
Blessings,
Ade
