Yesterday we drove to Chicago and visited Millennium Park, where we saw the famous “Bean” (Cloud Gate). As we looked at our reflection — and the reflections of hundreds of other people — I was reminded of how marriage often works.
Your spouse is like a mirror. Sometimes you see beauty reflected back. Other times, you see your flaws magnified. That’s not a bad thing. It’s an opportunity to grow.
Scripture puts it this way:
“As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.” – Proverbs 27:17
Marriage is God’s tool to refine us — shaping us into more patient, forgiving, and loving people. If you see a reflection today that makes you uncomfortable, don’t run from it. Instead, thank God for the chance to grow and to love more like Jesus.
Blessings,
-Ade
