Stop giving “good advice or suggestions” to your spouse!
You may think you are helping them but instead, you are destroying their confidence!
Of course, I mean stop giving unsolicited advice!
If your spouse asks for your advice by all means give them your best advice.
Otherwise, keep it to yourself until they ask.
And when they do, share your thoughts while still allowing them to make their decisions!
This is what they may hear when you give unsolicited advice:
- You are not smart enough
- I’m smarter than you
- You can’t do things right.
You definitely don’t mean to say these!
Here is what you can do instead. Ask how you can help. Ask if you can share a thought that came up as a result of what they just shared.
Remember to build them up why adding your thoughts.
Blessings
