When last did you give a gift to your spouse.. for no reason?
A gift says:
I like you,
I am thinking about you,
I want to make you happy,
I want you,
I choose you,
You are important to me,
I will make an effort to make sure we work,
I love you.
It is different from a bride:
A bribe says:
I want to control you,
I’m thinking about me,
I don’t want to lose what I get from you,
I don’t care about you as long as I am ok,
What turns a gift into a bribe?
A gift becomes a bribe when you have an idea of what you want as a result of giving the gift.
How do you know that?
You know by the feeling of “unfairness” or loss you feel when you don’t get what you wanted.
Give a gift soon. Make sure it is not expensive but thoughtful.
Sometimes an expensive gift feels more like a bribe!!!
