Use Your Words

When our boys were little we had to train them not to whine, cry or do any other thing to show their displeasure when they could use words.

These days I find that I have to train myself and many adults to use words to build their marriage and their spouses and not to tear them down.

Why is it easier to say:

  • You don’t love me?
  • This marriage is a mistake?
  • You are the reason for all our marriage problems?

When you can say:

  • I love you.
  • I know God is working on us to have a great marriage.
  • We can make this work together.

We find it easier to say negative words because we get immediate results from them.

And we have had more practice receiving negative words and speaking the same to ourselves.

You can learn to be a person who ONLY speaks words with the intention to BUILD UP and not to tear down. (Eph 4:29).

Start today with yourself. When you make a mistake.

Don’t say “I am so clumsy”.

Instead, say “Oops”. We all make mistakes.

Blessings
