Obviously, Michael feels hurt, cheated, and taken for granted.
He no longer believes in marriage because of his experience with the legal implications of marriage.
He has forgotten that:
Marriage is a covenant that says all that is mine is yours and yours are mine. She did not take his house, his kids, his income. He promised to share with her. Those things were hers too! And the law made it happen.
Sometimes people indeed manipulate the law for evil. But we must not let a few bad eggs destroy the blessing of sharing everything with another.
Marriage is risky! But it’s a blessing if done properly!
